Phd in Chemistry (1993), Degree in Industrial Chemistry (1990). Solidoro is a Senior Scientist at OGS, where he also is the deputy director of the Oceanography section and the head of OGS marine system modelling group. He holds associations to the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, where he give a course on Ecological Modelling and Biogeochemistry, and to the University of Trieste, where he gives a course on “Ecosystem dynamic, ecological models, and sustainability”. President of the International Society of Ecological Modelling - European Chapter, Italian National Representative of IGBP program Integrating Marine Biogeochemistry and Ecological Research, IMBER, he qualified as full professor in Ecology (MIUR abilitation) and was the recipient junior Prigogine Medal. Author and co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and more that 30 other publications including book chapters, reports and conference contributions. See list at

He was the Scientific Coordinator for several projects on coastal oceanography, ecosystem approach to fishery and aquaculture, marine ecosystem modelling, including SOSTEMITS (Economic value and environmental sustainability of mussel farm in the Northern Adriatic Sea: an ecosystem approach), ECOMADR (Integration ecological knowledge on Adriatic Sea), Co.Ri.La. 3.1.3 (Climatology of the coastal area in front of the Venice lagoon), ItaMExLagoon (large program of strategic relevance funded by Italian Ministry of foreign affairs and Mexican research ministry on Mexican lagoon), and PI in many others, including the large Italian project RITMARE and a dozen of EU projects.
