In 2002 Maria Dolores Ferrara took a law degree with full marks (110/110 cum laude) at the University of Naples "Federico II" (Italy), discussing a dissertation on dismissals in the EU Member States. In 2008 she became doctor of philosophy in European labour law at the University of Catania (Italy), discussing a thesis on the temporary agency work in the European Union.
Actually, she is researcher in labour law at University of Trieste (Italy) and in 2017 she took the national scientific qualification for associate professor. Since 2009 she teaches labour law at University of Trieste. Since 2008 she is member of the teaching staff of the short master programme in Labour Law and Social Security organized by the University of Trieste. She is member of the editorial boards of the labour law reviews. She participates in various research programmes at national and international level. She was speaker in numerous national and international conferences and she is author of about 50 scientific publications in the matters of labour law and European Union labour law.
